Project Brief

Legacy systems are expensive to run and hard to change. Business logic gets locked into decades of undocumented decisions, which turns modernization into a project measured in years instead of months. Chirp uses generative AI to shorten that path. It reads legacy applications, surfaces the business rules buried inside them, and generates modern code, documentation, tests, and deployment support in their place.

My Role

How I contributed to the project’s success

Partner with developers, delivery partners, managing directors, and prospective clients to translate new use cases into platform functionality without fragmenting the product's information architecture.

Design and prototype directly using AI-assisted design tools, owning UX and UI for new features and workflows.

Build and demo prototypes for developers and stakeholders to validate direction ahead of build.

Key UX Activities

Platform Ramp-up & Discovery

Got fluent in an already deployed products information architetcure, design patterns and system, and technical constraints.
Met with prospective clients and internal delivery teams to understand new modernization use cases across a range of legacy environments.

Synthesis & Strategy

Mapped new use cases onto Chirp's existing architecture, identifying where the product needed to flex versus where a use case should be normalized to existing patterns.
Helped define what goes into the product roadmap and which new features get prioritized, working with delivery leadership to weigh client demand against long-term product direction.
Shaped the next version of the tool itself, not just individual use cases, so Chirp continues to evolve and expand as a product rather than accumulating one-off additions.

Design & Iteration

Designed and prototyped new functionality using AI-assisted design tools, moving quickly between concept and testable prototype
Iterated on UI/UX based on feedback from stakeholder and client demos.

Development & Enablement

Partnered with engineering to move validated designs into the shipped product.
Supported client-facing demos with working prototypes to build stakeholder confidence ahead of engagement kickoffs.
