Project Brief

The client needed to improve identity and access management for employees, contractors, partners, and vendors. Existing processes were inconsistent, manual, and lacked a centralized system, making access management and task execution inefficient. Our team was selected to develop a custom portal focused on enhancing user experience, security, and providing a streamlined, visually appealing one-stop solution.

How I contributed to the project’s success

Oversaw the implementation of client-approved designs, managing the design team's work while maintaining a holistic view of the project to ensure alignment across cross-functional teams.

Delivered rapid, high-quality design solutions during development, adapting to shifting requirements and balancing stakeholder needs with technical constraints.

Led the creation of a visual design identity and thorough component library rooted in the client’s brand, while prioritizing user needs and creating engaging, on-brand materials for marketing and communications.

Collaborated closely with business analysts and developers through frequent design audits, user story reviews, and stakeholder sessions.

Key UX Activities

Discovery & Research

  • Defined key personas and user roles, and developed a phased product roadmap.
  • Mapped requirements, user flows, and detailed feature documentation based on identified user needs.

Design & Iteration

  • Designed a high-fidelity interactive prototype demonstrating the portal's core functionality and visual style.
  • Developed the brand identity, including a custom logo and comprehensive brand guideline that aligned with client needs.
  • Crafted UX writing and platform language to ensure a unified tone and messaging.
  • Supported change management with branded marketing materials, including newsletters, emails, and guide templates.
  • Collaborated with the technical team to align on platform selection and technical feasibility.

Development & Implementation

  • Conducted routine design audits with BAs and developers to resolve discrepancies between designs and implementation.
  • Advocated for design integrity, proposing ad-hoc UX solutions when constraints arose.
  • Continuously refined the design to accommodate evolving requirements while maintaining a cohesive experience.
  • Provided ongoing support to the development team, attending internal and client-facing story review sessions and offering UX guidance throughout.
