Project Brief

There was no centralized platform for citizens to search for grant opportunities within the state. Instead, seekers often relied on the same limited sources, as postings were scattered across multiple platforms. The client aimed to create a site that would simplify the search process, maximize the utilization of federal funding, and improve transparency and reporting between the government and its citizens.

My Role

How I contributed to the project’s success

Owned and produced all design deliverables, including responsive high-fidelity designs, logo and brand identity, and information architecture.

Led the UX design for a public-facing website, ensuring alignment with client goals through ongoing collaboration, structured planning, and human-centered design practices.

Organized and facilitated client workshops focused on design thinking and branding exploration.

Key UX Activities

Discovery & Research

  • Facilitated Design and Discovery Workshops to define core objectives and uncover key challenges. Focus areas included:
    • Defining Product Goals
    • Understanding the User Base
    • Mapping the User Journey

Synthesis & Strategy

  • Created an Information Architecture that documented the site navigation, the content structure, requirements, and all of the language and content that will be present. Continuously refined as necessary coming out of sessions with the client.

Design & Iteration

  • Created wireframes based on defined requirements and information architecture, ensuring all user groups were thoughtfully considered.
  • Collaborated closely with requirements analysts, test planners, and developers to ensure both design alignment and technical feasibility.
  • Developed a visual design identity and brand that balanced government standards with a friendly, approachable feel, based on client input. Also created a custom logo and transformed wireframes into polished, high-fidelity designs.

Development & Implementation

  • Delivered all finalized designs, assets, and documentation to the technical team to support a smooth handoff and efficient development process.

The design is currently in development and scheduled to go live in September 2025.
